ASEAN Dengue Day 2026 – United Against Dengue

ASEAN Dengue Day is observed on June 15 every year and represents a regional advocacy initiative aimed at raising awareness against dengue. It is a collective advocacy event to reiterate calls on all sectors of society to unite against dengue, as well as to highlight innovative and effective strategies in the prevention and control of the disease. Dengue is a serious and growing threat in Bali. Historically, Bali sees a spike in dengue cases during the dry season from May through October, as reduced rainfall leads people to store fresh water around homes and businesses, creating ideal breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes in uncovered containers. Know the Warning Signs of Dengue:

  • Sudden high fever (39–40°C)
  • Severe headache, especially behind the eyes
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Nausea, vomiting, or rash
  • Mild bleeding such as nosebleeds or gum bleeding

Seek emergency care immediately if you notice:

  • Persistent vomiting or severe abdominal pain
  • Bleeding under the skin
  • Sudden drop in blood pressure or signs of shock

How to Protect Yourself and Your Community:

  • Empty and clean any containers that hold standing water (flower pots, buckets, water tanks)
  • Use mosquito repellent consistently, especially during dawn and dusk
  • Wear long-sleeved clothing in high-risk areas
  • Install mosquito screens on windows and doors
  • Seek medical evaluation early if symptoms appear early diagnosis saves lives
