National Children’s Day 2026 – Protecting Every Child’s Future

National Children’s Day (Hari Anak Nasional) is celebrated every year in Indonesia on July 23. It was first proclaimed by President Soeharto in 1984 through Presidential Decree Number 44 of 1984. July 23 was chosen because it coincides with the date the Law on Child Welfare (Law Number 4 of 1979) was enacted. IslamicFinderIslamicFinder
This commemoration serves as a momentum to raise awareness among all elements of society regarding children’s rights, protection, growth, and development as the next generation. Indonesia’s Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) has previously carried the theme “Anak Hebat, Indonesia Kuat menuju Indonesia Emas 2045” (Great Children, Strong Indonesia towards a Golden Indonesia 2045), with sub-themes addressing stunting-free child nutrition, safe digital literacy, inclusive education, ending child marriage, and stopping violence against children — values that remain highly relevant for 2026.
