Every year on July 17, Indonesia commemorates Saka Bakti Husada Day, marking the establishment of Saka Bakti Husada (SBH) — a special scouting unit formed jointly by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and the National Headquarters of the Indonesian Scout Movement. SBH was officially established on July 17, 1985, and later proclaimed by the Minister of Health on November 12, 1985, coinciding with National Health Day in Magelang. Saka Bakti Husada aims to develop a generation of health development cadres who can help institutionalize healthy living norms among members of the Scout Movement and the wider community. It is open to Pramuka Penegak and Pramuka Pandega — young scouts from both student and community backgrounds who are interested in deepening their knowledge and skills in health.
